Great entry level skates
Buy these skates a size bigger than you normally would and wear extra thick socks. They take a little while to break in - but after they are broken in - they are super comfortable. Great for roller derby. I wear a woman's 8 but these run in men's sizes - so I would have gotten a size 7 - but - I knew not to because I tried on a friend of mine's size 8 and it fit well with the extra socks - I think skating with two pairs of thick socks is the best thing to do to prevent blisters anyway. Since the ABEC rating on the bearings is 1 - get some ABEC 9 bearings - off of amazon - and change them out if you really want to go fast. The ABEC 1 bearings are a lot slower than the ABEC 9 ones.

Beginner skater likes these skates
I purchased these skates at the age of 54 to learn to roller blade. I used to ice skate at an average level and ski at an advanced level several years ago. Although they were not reccomended for beginner skaters I was up and going in about 15 minutes doing the bare basics. Very happy to purchase protective wear tho already saved myself a wrist and an elbow injury.
That said these skates are great fit perfectly (size 10 was size 10) no excess movement in the frame built quite well compared to others I looked at. Interestingly enough they were actually better than the smaller wheeled skates reccomended for beginners with better bearings frames and boots as well as better pricing than the lesser quality ones. I went blading over relatively coarse concrete and they rolled well and yet gripped the pavement well. I was pleasantly amazed. The only issue was they came in white with blue trim instead of the picture shown which was gray and red. I just got a helmet to match the protective wear non gloss black and they are just fine I could care less about the color. I would reccomend these to beginning skaters who are slightly heavy and have skated or skied before. Very sturdy yet comfortable and light on the feet. Get protective wear tho esp wrist pads. I wish I would have tried this years ago. These beat the four wheel ones I learned to skate on back in the skating rink days when it was two + two rather than 4 in-line.
